MedMen Enterprises Inc. has announced Roz Lipsey as their new Chief Operating Officer, succeeding interim COO Tim Bossidy. Ms. Lipsey has been Senior Vice President, Business Operations at MedMen since 2020 and has more than 25 years of operational experience. Her focus has been business start-ups, strategy, and scaling.

Previously, Ms. Lipsey had been President of a vertically integrated Arizona-based cannabis operation. She had successfully scaled its cultivation, manufacturing, wholesale and retail businesses before its acquisition by MedMen. She also held leadership positions at the Foreign Agricultural Service, Jokake Companies, and Volkart/Anderson Clayton.

MedMen CEO Tom Lynch praised Lipsey’s tenure as Senior Vice President, Business Operations describing her leadership as “sharp” and “results-driven” with a deep understanding and strong grasp of the “inherent complexities of a fast-growing multi-state cannabis operation.” 

“Her expertise and experience in this sector will be invaluable in this new phase of progress and momentum,” said Lynch.

Interim COO Tom Bossidy will return to his role as Senior Director at Sierra Constellation Partners. Lynch had praise for him also.

“In his role as interim COO, Tim Bossidy has played a critical role in the implementation and acceleration of MedMen’s turnaround plan,” said Lynch. “He leaves us well-positioned to execute with a laser-focus on driving profitability, rapidly expanding to new markets, and delivering the industry’s premier retail experience.”

Just this past July, Mr. Lynch became CEO of MedMen with hopes of pulling them out of their financial doldrums. An extended period of risky financial moves left the company with dangerous amounts of debt. Lynch has a reputation as a “turnaround specialist” (David’s Bridal and Frederick’s of Hollywood, to name two businesses he rescued), leading companies away from the brink of financial ruin and back of the path to financial security.
