Southern Glazer’s Wine & Spirits, the world’s largest alcohol distributor, is partnering with Curaleaf Holdings Inc. to distribute cannabis supplies, such as their Hemp and Select CBD. The partnership will combine Curaleaf’s high-quality non-psychoactive hemp products with Southern Glazer’s national scale, unmatched route-to-market capabilities, and industry-leading Proof® e-commerce platform.
In a statement, David Chaplin, Chief Growth Officer of Southern Glazer’s, praised the addition of Curaleaf to its distribution network, noting that both companies are investing significantly in the future growth potential of CBD in the U.S.
“Southern Glazer’s best-in-class CBD sales and marketing capability is uniquely positioned to deliver the most effective route-to-market for Curaleaf, and I am confident we can drive continued growth for their portfolio of products at retail locations across the U.S.,” said Chaplin.
Southern Glazer’s successful history of often navigating complex distribution responsibilities in a well-regulated industry is a massive asset for Curaleaf.
“We value Southern Glazer’s expertise, efficiency, and extensive network, particularly as we aim to open the consumer awareness funnel and fuel growth within our CBD business,” said Joseph Gennaro, Curaleaf vice president of CBD, Health & Wellness.
Market experts anticipate that the companies will introduce innovations with beverages and confections containing minor cannabinoids CBN and CBG.
Glazer’s has previously announced a distribution deal with Canopy Growth for its line of CBD beverages, including Quatreau.
