Just when you thought mainstream propaganda against marijuana use couldn't get any more ridiculous, you surely haven't been watching the Christian Broadcasting Network as of late.
According to a recent broadcast featuring Pat Robertson of "The 700 Club", the shrewd and sometimes controversial televangelist claimed that marijuana use, among other controlled substances, is contrary to the will of God, because man is supposed to have dominion over "all the vegetables".
Continuing his soft spoken tirade, Robertson went on to state that, "cocaine is the product of a vegetable, alcohol is the product of a vegetable, marijuana is vegetable. And yet, people are enslaved to vegetables."
"Why would you become a slave to a vegetable?" Robertson asked his viewers. "Why? Why would you do it?"
Robertson ended his program by asking his viewers to end the destruction that being a slave to a vegetable can have on one's family life, and to give their hearts to Jesus.
Based on Robertson's reasoning, folks should think twice before picking up one of their favorite glass bubblers
and becoming a slave to a vegetable.
On a side note, vegetarians have yet to comment on Robertson's "vegetable slavery" claim, but we can speculate that they won't be to happy to find out they've been in bondage this whole time.
