Nancy Grace continued her fear mongering campaign against marijuana in a recent debate with rapper 2 Chainz, showing once again, the misguided factual information surrounding marijuana legalization by some mainstream news sources.
In this video clip, Grace attempts to legitimize her anti-marijuana stance by absurdly referencing clips of reckless mothers giving their young children marijuana.
“What I’m trying to say to you is, if this is legalized, then everybody is gonna have unlimited access to pot,” she argued during the debate. “And unlike other people that are responsible, irresponsible child abusers are going to have free access.”
One would have to consume up to 20,000 times the amount of THC found in one joint to have an overdose, compared to only 10 times the average serving of alcohol to be fatal, according to some sources, and the chances that children can be poisoned by marijuana is rare.
In rebuttal, 2 Chainz points out that marijuana is less dangerous than alcohol, and that it is already widely available for any "irresponsible" people, who really want to mis-use it. He goes onto to suggest educating people on the dangers of marijuana, as well as legalizing, regulating, and taxing it, instead of putting the burden on taxpayers and overcrowded prisons, is the best way to address marijuana's current state.
"You will find some footage like this, but everybody is not [giving it to their kids]," he responded. "Some people actually love their child. Some people know that it's obviously wrong, so this is nothing to really argue about; these people are obviously imbeciles. You can't use this case to define an entire community."
