The High Times Norcal Cannabis Cup will be held in San Francisco on June 20th
and the 21st
. The Cannabis Cup is the world’s top marijuana trade show and is hosted in states and countries that have legalized recreational and medical marijuana. The famed Cow Palace will be the site for this year’s Norcal Cannabis Cup. The site also happened to be the first location for the 2010 Medical Cannabis Cup, which was the first Cup in the United States since the event was founded by Steven Hager in 1988.
Over 20,000 people will attend along with 300 vendors
There is an expected attendance of over 20,000 people with over 300 booths selling cannabis related products. The event is always lively and fun, and attendees get to participate in educational classes taught by the leading cultivators in the world, sample the latest cannabis products, and enjoy live entertainment. Attendees must be over the age of 18 and do not need a medical marijuana card to attend the event, however a card is needed for the consumption of cannabis on the premises.
The event will be headlined by Steel Pulse
Grammy award winners Steel Pulse will be headlining the event and are known for their strong anti-violence message and their fight for social justice. The band is also known for being a favorite of Bob Marley. They are known for being the first non-Jamaican group to win the Grammy for Best Reggae Album and they have been active since 1975 in the music community.
Steve DeAngelo will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award
Steve DeAngelo is expected to receive a HIGH TIMES Lester Grinspoon Lifetime Achievement Award on June 21st
at the Cannabis Cup. DeAngelo founded the famous Harborside Health Center which is the largest medical marijuana dispensary in the world and has provided lab tested and high quality cannabis medicines to patients in great need.
His clinic has been a compassionate ally and valuable resource to patients who have been restricted from getting proper treatment. DeAngelo has also had his share of battles with the District Attorney in Northern California and has had to fight hard in order to be able to provide his service to Northern California.
More dates are planned for 2015
There are more dates planned for 2015 High Times Cannabis Cup events throughout the United States including Oregon, Michigan, Southern California, a DC Business Conference. There will also be an international event later this fall in Jamaica, and the Cup has regularly been held in Amsterdam since its founding.
