Can you dab without a carb cap?
It's possible to dab without a carb cap, but experts wouldn't recommend it. The purpose of a carb cap is to trap and secure the vapors and prevent them from melting too rapidly. More importantly, it's the necessary tool that prevents the loss of vapors in the dabbing process. The vapors will drift off into the air if a dab nail isn't secure after the introduction of the concentrate. Using a carb cap is also critical in helping airflow and controlling the heat levels without burning the concentrate. Vaporizing at lower temperatures would be practically impossible for devoted dabbers if not for the carb cap.
Are all carb caps the same?
No, not every carb cap is the same, though they have similar functionalities. There are three main types of carb caps on the market: standard, bubble carb caps, and directional carb caps. The standard ones are the type you see at your typical smoke shop -- rounded tip caps off the banger with a handle to prevent fingers from burning. The intention of a bubble carb cap is mainly for flat-top quartz bangers. These create a carb from the hollow stems that reach from the cap's top and bottom. How to Use Dab Caps
